Young man Nader Salibi mourns the the killing of his aunt’s family in the massacres, saying that their only crime was being and living in areas. His full post:

Do you know what their crime was? Their ‘crime’ was being Christian and living in an Alawite area in Latakia. Now you understand that terrorism and criminals do not distinguish between Alawite, Sunni, Christian, or Druze. As long as you are in an Alawite area, you are marked for death.

My aunt had lived among the Alawites for over 40 years, and no one ever harmed them—not a single word“
