The Alawite child, Qais, talks about what happened yesterday in their home after it was raided by militants of the jihadi militia:

‏“The gunmen came, they took the gold, money, and phones.”

‏“They pointed the rifle at my mother’s head, they wanted to shoot her.”

‏“They told her, ‘Turn towards the wall.’”

‏“My mother didn’t turn towards the wall, then my grandmother Munira called, and the man with the beard answered. But my mother hung up the phone. He slapped my mother and punched her.”

‏“Then he put the rifle to her head and told her, ‘Turn, or I will shoot you.’ Then he didn’t shoot her.”

‏“Then they went upstairs and searched but didn’t find anything. They took the key, but my mother took it back. Then they took the key again and took our car.”.
