Alawites Besieged in Damascus: New Abduction by Julani Militia Amid Fears of Execution

In a dangerous escalation threatening the security of minorities in and its surroundings, militants abducted Ali Maen Al-Ali yesterday while he was traveling with his family from Damascus to his village, Al-Mushrifah, in rural.

According to local sources, he was stopped near bridge– Wasim gas station, where the militants asked him, “Are you an Alwaite?” When he confirmed that he was , they forcibly removed him at gunpoint in front of his wife and children, ignoring their cries and pleas for his release. He was then taken to an unknown location, raising fears of his execution.

Warning to Residents:

Amid the growing threat of sectarian targeting, Alawites and other minorities are advised to avoid the Maarba – al-Tall route and instead use the Damascus city center route towards highway for their safety.
