The voice recording includes part of an interview between the Al-Laqmani village mayor and journalist Nada Mashriqi. In it, the mayor states that a person on a motorcycle threw a grenade near one of the militia’s checkpoints last night. He denies that this person was from the village.
In response, militia members raided the village today, killing Shawqi Ahmad Badour due to “poor planning” and “wrong actions” by the militia. The mayor also criticized the way homes were searched but did not provide details.
He emphasized that the victim, Shawqi Badour, 55 years old, was an innocent, extremely poor man who owned nothing.
