‏The announcement of the establishment of the Supreme Alawite Islamic Council in Syria and the Diaspora for the first time since 1970, after the rise of President ⁦ ⁩ to power and his subsequent banning of the council, was made.

‏The announcement statement was read by Mr. Basel Ali Al-Khatib.
