Kidnapping of Alawite Brothers in Homs Countryside by HTS Militants

The young men Ali Ayda and his brother Mohmmed Ayda were kidnapped in the village of in the countryside on Thursday, 20/03, by militants from the (Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham) operating in the area.

The village of was home to a mix of Alawite Arabs and Sunni Turkmen. After the regime’s fall, a number of the village’s Turkmen inhabitants collaborated with militants to forcibly displace all the from the village, taking over their homes through killing, kidnapping, and theft.

The two young men were among the displaced, and they returned to the village only to retrieve some of their belongings. They were immediately kidnapped, and there has been no information on their fate so far.
