Alawite Man Killed, Three Others Injured in HTS Attack in Talkalakh, Homs

Talkalakh, – Firas Aqel was killed yesterday, while Asaad Shaaban, Mohammed Abbas, and Ali Al-Ahmad were injured in an attack in the town of , in the western countryside of Homs.

According to reports, two armed militants from the Al-Majd Battalion (Talkalakh Martyrs), affiliated with the terrorist group Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (), arrived on a motorcycle and stopped in front of an office where Firas Aqel and the other victims were sitting. The attackers reportedly asked, “We heard you are Alawites?” before opening fire on them and fleeing the scene.

Talkalakh is a town in western with a mixed Sunni and Alawite population. Since the fall of the Syrian government in the area, Alawites there have been subjected to kidnappings, killings, home robberies, humiliations, and the burning of three religious shrines.
